This has happened to me before when I was in college at a frat party. This girl comes squeezing herself in between me and my friend and throws her arms around me. “Amanda, I am so glad you decided to come!” I was so confused and just figured she was drunk and mistaked me for someone else, until I saw the panic on her face. She leaned close and whispered that a guy was following her, was certain that he had put something in her drink and if I would please play along. I looked behind her and sure enough, some creep was watching her like a hawk. We invited her to hang out with us the rest of the night and even waited until her ride showed up just to make sure she was safe. Always look out for each other!
If you ever feel scared like this just come up to me like we have been friends since kindergarten, call me any name u can come up with ill play along.

Stay together, stay safe
Perfect advice.
I’m reblogging this as a guy, because first of all, if you”re a guy : DON’T DO THAT. Don’t be that creep. And if you’re a guy and you notice some creep is following or stalking a girl, and that she’s obviously uncomfortable or panicked, go ahead and say hi, long time no see, pretend to be her cousin, and tell her discretly you noticed there was a shady guy. Ask her if something’s wrong, if she feels unsafe, if she wants your help (very important - she may not trust you enough, no one could blame her, don’t take it personally). (and don’t you dare take advantage of the help you offered for a flirt opportunity, that would make you no better than the creep)
We can all stop “witnessing and do nothing”, and set an example.
Reblog every time because there are new stories every time.
As someone that saw countless women being harrassed in public (like, me sitting in the hostel lobby and a guy just openly sexually harrassing a group of women, in total disregard that there are other people watching and listening), dear fellow men, please please PLEASE
If a guy says something, the girl says no and he ignores it, the gentleman thing to do is go up and say “She said NO” and send him home. And heck, if YOU are scared of the guy, then collect some other people that watch and don’t care and MAKE THEM CARE. In the worst case, call the police and then announce it (almost everyone will run away then instead of trying to fight). I am one of the physically weakest men I know and I threw out people that looked like professional bodybuilders for bothering women in my presence and I only got threatened once (and then people actually decided to stand up against him and he backed down and left).
As sad as it is, but ESPECIALLY men need to stand up to this shit. Cause men listen to other men. When I once went up to a stranger bothering three girls in a club and simply called out to them like I knew them and asked who the dude is, he instantly vanished cause a fellow guy’s “territory” gets more respected than a girls opinion. Make use of this and utilize it to keep the women around you safe.
Reblogging for this great and brief summative quote:
“… a fellow guy’s “territory” gets more respected than a girls opinion. “
This is what annoys me most about the cat-calling situation: if you wouldn’t say something to a woman if her boyfriend (father/uncle/brother) were present, WHY are you saying it when she’s alone? Because - and you are clearly revealing your misogyny - you believe a woman’s value lies solely in her relationships to other MEN. And that is so deeply, deeply troubling!

If you don’t want everyone knowing who you are, just send me an ask on anon with your results. I’m curious as to if there’s a correlation between these, because I am a nerd.

If a female character kicks ass, she’s overpowered. If a female character can’t defend herself, she’s unnecessary. If a female character acts nice, she’s boring. If a female character acts mean, she’s a bitch. If a female character shows no emotion, she’s heartless. If a female character shows emotion, she’s weak. What can a female character do without being criticized mercilessly?
